Youth Ministry at JGMC
Children and youth are actively encouraged to take part in all aspects of the life of the Church, especially Sunday morning worship, which includes a special Time with the Children. The third Sunday of each month is traditionally Youth Sunday, when our uniformed organizations parade.

Children's Church (Sunday School)
Instruction for toddlers to age 12 is held each Sunday morning during the worship service. This is a time not only of learning but of fun and Christian fellowship. Here the youngsters get their first taste of what it means to be a part of the family of God. Each year the Sunday School treats the larger congregation to a dramatization of the Christmas story.

Youth Groups
There are two youth groups which meet regularly on Friday evenings for fellowship and Christian nurture. His Kids (ages 8-12) meets at 7:00 pm while the teen youth group meets at 7:30 pm.

Girls’ Brigade
One of the first youth organisations established within the Church, the Brigade is an international, interdenominational uniformed organisation catering to girls from 5 years of age. Its aim is: “To Help Girls Become Followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through Self Control, Reverence and a Sense of Responsibility to Find True Enrichment of Life”. Spiritual, Physical, Educational and Service aspects are covered in the structured programme. Older girls also participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

Meetings are held for one hour each Monday during the school term in the Church Hall and times are:
5:30 pm Explorers (5-8yrs), Juniors (8-11yrs), Seniors (11-14yrs)
6:00 pm Brigaders (14yrs +)

Scouts
The West Bay Boy Scouts meet from 4:00 – 5:30 pm on Saturdays. All boys aged 6 years and up are invited to attend this uniformed organisation, regardless of denomination. Meetings are held in the Church Hall, unless the Scouts are out camping or exploring!

After School Programme
An After School Programme each week day is sponsored by the Church (with financial help from the Government) for approximately 60 children who have no adult to go home to between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. They are collected from school and engaged in a structured programme of devotion, homework, craft, sports, outings, play, etc. and served a snack.

Budget Friendly Family Nights (adapted from Devozine- Jan-Feb 2011)
1. Walk to the local library, and check out the books you enjoyed as a child. This time, teens read to parents.
2. Make dinner together by assigning each person a specific dish - soup, salad, meat, vegetables, dessert.
3. Walk down memory lane by browsing through old family photos; then grab the camera to make new memories.
4. Read a Bible story together, and discuss what it means.
5. Volunteer together at Soup*r Saturdays. Eat with the people being served and listen to their stories. Share some of your own, and be blessed.
